Intentional Culture

Precise has developed an “intentional culture” practice wherein employees participate in an ongoing discussion about what kind of culture they want to experience when they come to work and how they can take responsibility for closing gaps between the idealized culture they imagine and the actual culture they experience each day. We describe the company culture as “intentional” because we actively weave intentionality into every aspect of our work so it will drive and inform a healthy, productive work environment.

The Precise Leadership Team is intentional about setting the tone from the top, playing an active role in supporting the company culture and leading by example to promote an open and supportive work environment. Precise managers engage employees in monthly check-ins that focus on the employee and include questions about how happy they are, what is going well, and where they are experiencing challenges. The company also invites all employees to a monthly Culture Framework discussion series that offers an open forum for discussion about a variety of topics that inform the company culture including how to build trust, how to work through conflict, and how to promote stewardship and accountability.

Building on the foundation of our intentional culture, we have defined our company’s mission, vision, and core values. We are committed to continually assessing and evolving our culture framework through continued discussions and activities that ensure that all team members feel a sense of inclusion in, ownership of, and responsibility for the health, welfare, and success of company.

Our Mission

We bring performance excellence, agility, and innovation to help advance our customers’ mission.

Our Vision

To be a model of innovation and impact with the happiest employees, the most satisfied customers, and a community that is better off for our presence.

Core Values

  • Create possibility

We dream big, act boldly, take risks, embrace our mistakes, and engage in continuous learning. We make a list of our dreams and work to make them reality. If we aren’t making mistakes, we aren’t pushing ourselves far enough, and if we are truly learning from our mistakes, we aren’t repeating them.

  • Innovate from the inside out

We drive internal innovative efforts to create external opportunity and impact.

  • Have fun

We take our work very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Looking for ways to have fun doesn’t detract from our seriousness about delivering service excellence. It makes us stronger and more resilient.

  • Promote radical candor

Don’t tell us what you think we want to hear. Tell us what we need to know. We don’t let conflict aversion prevent us from offering direct and honest feedback. By persistently striving to remove our blind spots, we are quick to identify risks and solve problems.

  • Avoid surprises

We promote timely, direct, and honest multi-directional communication. We understand that bad news doesn’t get better with time, and we promote a company-wide ethic based on continually asking ourselves the question, “Who needs to know?” We align expectations with continual communication, clarification, proactive feedback loops, and lessons learned.

  • Practice generosity

We practice generosity in our business practices, in our communications, in our caring for our customers and employees, and in our support of the community. We recognize that everyone needs help, we are willing to offer help, and we’re not afraid to ask for help.

  • Take ownership and be accountable

We hold ourselves and the team accountable for our commitments. To be part of the Precise team, we must have “GWC” -- Get it, Want it, and have the Capacity to do it. It’s not enough to show up and participate; we all must take responsibility for and ownership of all company processes.

  • Be a contribution

We encourage team members to contribute to the greater good of the company by promoting a notion of recognition that states, “Now that you’ve done it…,”as opposed to asking, “What do I get if I do it?”. We don’t get our egos caught up in being right or knowing more than anyone else. Our focus is on taking initiative and doggedly identifying issues and developing solutions. Don’t be right. Get it right.

  • Keep it simple

Simplicity is key to agility. Don’t accept complexity just because that’s how it’s been done in the past. Ask why. And yet, simplicity doesn’t mean cutting corners. Don’t overthink and overengineer.
