Precise Awarded SAFHER Contract by the Association of Food and Drug Officials

Precise has been awarded a new contract with the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) to support the System for Agriculture, Food, Health, E-inspections and Registration (SAFHER) program. AFDO is a regulatory organization that connects food and medical-products safety stakeholders and impacts the regulatory environment by shaping sound, science-based rules, law, regulations, and sharing best practices that protect public health.

Since 2019, Precise has supported AFDO and its USAFoodSafety system with hosting, operations, maintenance and help desk support for 12 states and over 50 local organizations. For over 3 years, has successfully supported the USAFoodSafety system while also providing innovation solutions, such as mobile apps, data analytics and proof concepts.

AFDO has championed the SAFHER initiative to develop a new, modernized, national regulatory platform to be employed by state agriculture, food, and health programs. The updated application suite for this program, based on the Appian platform, will empower its business users and customers to address their federal and state government requirements while enhancing the experience of each of the state’s residents’ interaction.

This project is being completed as part of a cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) is also participating with AFDO on this project. Beginning this month, the SAFHER program kicks off with engagement from AFDO, state regulatory agencies, food safety professionals, consumers and the Precise team. We couldn’t be more excited for this long-awaited and collaborative initiative.

Lead by VP of State Governments Drew Polulak, Precise has successfully delivered on every contract obligation with an in-depth knowledge of the importance of a national integrated food safety program. With “Exceptional” customer satisfaction and a trusted advisor relationship with AFDO, Precise demonstrated keen understanding of today’s challenges and how best to support a successful SAFHER initiative. Precise also brings our mature process and successful past performances for managing complex modernization projects within a large stakeholder environment. We are committed as a company with a very dedicated team to support AFDO and its stakeholders for a successful SAFHER program.
